The Pound reached the 1.26 level against the Dollar for the first time since February, guided mainly by a weaker dollar, as uncertainty develops on whether Donald Trump can enforce his economic plan.
Sterling rose against most of its major peers, but further upside might be limited given the political unpredictability encircling Britain’s exit from the EU. Prime Minister Theresa May is scheduled to start the process officially tomorrow with the triggering of Article 50.
The pound rose 0.8%to 1.2577 against the Dollar by 3:32 p.m. yesterday having earlier reached a high of 1.2615, its highest since Feb. 2. The Pound rose slightly against the Euro to 1.1586.
