The Pound strengthened against the Euro as speculation that economic-output data will show signs of recovery in the U.K. and that will encourage the Bank of England policy makers to consider the first interest-rate increase in eight years.
Sterling rose against the Euro before a data out today is expected to show the U.K. gross domestic product will increased by 0.7% from April to June, Britain’s 10th consecutive quarter of growth. Speculating rates will rise in May, compared with August 2016 as recently as July 10 this year.
The Pound strengthened 0.1% to €1.4046 against the Euro as this morning, after touching €1.3995 on Monday, the weakest level since July 13. Sterling fell 0.1% to $1.5541 aginst the Dollar.
