The Pound strengthened in the wake of the Greek bailout agreement.
With the bailout deal agreed which will see Greece remain in the Euro. The focus is now switching to the U.K. economy. Reports are due this week which will show average earnings and employment has increased since May, increasing the case for higher interest rates.
Now that we’ve got Greece out of the way there are a lot of releases coming for the U.K. this week. If they come out at or above expectations sterling could get a boost.”
The Pound gained less than 0.1% to 1.5523 against the Dollar as of yesterday afternoon, after sliding for the past three weeks. It reached 1.5930 on June 18, the highest level since November. Sterling strengthened 1.3% to 1.4092 against the Euro.
