Pound Declines Against The Euro
The Pound fell to a 14 day low versus the Euro yesterday, its renewed strength is mainly due to the outcome of the first round of the French presidential election.
Macron received 24% of the votes while Le Pen received 21.3%. These two will now go to a run off to determine the next French President. This will go ahead on May 7.
The Euro surged to a 1.4% rise against the Pound, seeing it advance to a high of 1.1727. The Euros biggest gain since January.
The Pound is still riding high versus the Dollar at 1.2802. Sterling recovered slightly against the Euro to 1.1741.
