Pound Halts Three Day Rise
The Pound declined for the first time since Thursday versus the dollar as U.K. manufacturing growth unanticipatedly slowed for a third month in March.
Factory PMI fell to 54.2 from a revised 54.5 last month, above the key 50 level that divides expansion from contraction, but below economists’ forecast for a rise 55. Sterling curbed a three-day rise against the Euro and fell against all but one of its major peers.
The Pound fell 0.8% to 1.2421 against the Dollar. Sterling advanced 0.6% last week, when it reached a seven-week high. The Pound fell slightly against the Euro to 1.1662, falling from a high of 1.1771.
