Sterling advanced to a 2 month high versus the Euro as France’s impending election sends anxiety through Eurozone markets.
The Pound rose to 1.185 against the Euro, the highest level since December.
Marine Le Pen’s popularity is increasing, therefore increasing the volatility in the currency. Le Pen is set to call a ‘Frexit’ vote if she wins the election.
Britain's economy grew faster than previously expected in the fourth quarter of 2016. GDP grew by 0.7% in the quarter at the second reading, above the previous reading of 0.6% released in January.
Sterling fell slightly over night against the Euro to 1.1822. The Pound Rose against the Dollar to 1.2468.
