The Pound rose this morning after UK data showed the unemployment rate beat forecasts and fell to 4.4% from a forecasted 4.5%. This is the lowest since 1975. There were 125,000 jobs created in the second quarter.
Basic wages rose an annual 2.1% in the three months. Also, the number of unemployed people per vacancy was at a record low of 1.9.
Total pay including bonuses increased to 2.1% which was also better than forecasted. However inflation fell 0.5% which was slightly less that recorded the previous month.
The Pound rose after this data release to 1.2887 against the Dollar and 1.0989 against the Euro.
