The Pound’s Poor Run Continues

Sterling had a volatile week last week, declining on Friday after new figures reported the UK trade deficit had increased.

This week looks set to bring more volatility for the U.K. currency as UK inflation data is released tomorrow.

Inflation is expected to show a 2.7% rise in July, from 2.6% previously, when it is released at 9.30 on Tuesday.

The Pound rose slightly against the Dollar and the Euro over the weekend to 1.3001 and 1.1008.

Data to look out for today.
