Sterling reached its highest level against the Dollar since September, reaching a high of 1.3229.
UK PMI data come out better than forecasted this morning. It rose to 55.1 last month from 54.2 the month before. The result was expected to climb to 54.5.
With Thursday’s upcoming Monetary Policy Meeting, there could be an even bigger boost for the Pound. In the last meeting three members of the committee called for an immediate hike to rates, amongst a growing economy and high inflation. If more than two members want to raise rates, the pound could be given a large boost.
The Pound rose against the Dollar to 1.3203. Sterling was little changed against the Euro at 1.1175
