Sterling weakened for a second day against the Dollar after a report revealed that U.K. inflation unexpectedly decelerated in October, maintaining belief that interest rates will stay low for longer.
The Pound pared losses against its major peers after a U.K. judge said leaving the EU may be slowed. The currency fell earlier after the annual consumer-price growth was 0.9% last month, compared with 1% in September. The rate was predicted to rise to 1.1%. BOE Governor Mark Carney told lawmakers that sterling weakness was due to the outlook for slower U.K. growth.
The Pound fell 0.3% to 1.2455 against the Dollar, after sliding 0.8% Monday. The U.K. currency is down more than 16% percent since Britain voted in June to leave the EU. Sterling rose against the Euro to 1.1637, rising from 1.1562 on Tuesday.
