The Pound fell for the first time in three days against the Dollar as the UK heads to the polls today in the tightest election in a generation.
Sterling weakened as opinion polls suggesting neither Prime Minister David Cameron’s Conservatives nor Ed Miliband’s Labour Party will win a majority, negotiations by both sides to form a government could drag into the weekend and beyond. Polling stations opened at 7 a.m this morning, and will shut at 10 p.m., after which an official exit poll is due to be released.
The pound is very likely to become more volatile during the day.
The Pound fell 0.3% to $1.5206 this morning, and weakened 0.4% to €1.3360 against the Euro.
