Pound falls to 5 year low against the Dollar.

The Pound fell to an almost five-year low against the Dollar as the general election campaign entered its final month, what looks to be the tightest contest in generations.

May 7 election looks more unlikely to produce a clear winner. The Pound also dropped as the Bank of England voted to keep interest rates at a record-low 0.5 percent for a 73rd month.

The Pound fell 1.8% to $1.4648 on Friday, and falling as low as $1.4569 this morning, the lowest since June 2010. Sterling strengthened 1.6% to €138.3 against the Euro. We could see Sterling fall as low 1.43 in the coming weeks
