Pound falls for a third day against Euro.   

The Pound weakened for a third day against the Euro as U.K. inflation barely rose last month, enhancing the case for the Bank of England to keep interest rates at a record low.

CPI growth slowed to 0.1% in February from 0.3% in January.

The BOE’s Monetary Policy Committee kept the benchmark interest rate at a record-low 0.5%. Tit has been at that level since March 2009, and the last increase was in July 2007.

Demand for U.K. manufactured exports tumbled to the lowest in over two years, increasing concerns that a weak euro-area economy and the strong Pound will keep growth down.

Growth in the UK has been largely due to domestic demand since the recession, with exports held back by the struggling euro region, which accounts for about half the nation’s trade.

The Pound fell by 0.3% to €1.3617 this morning and touched €1.3606, the weakest level since Feb. 23. Sterling was little changed at $1.4961 against the Dollar after falling to $1.4635 on March 18, the lowest level since June 2010.
