Pound weakens against the Dollar.

The Pound fell against the Dollar the most in four years, as there is increasing speculation that the FED will raise interest rates before the Bank of England does.

Sterling fell as the BOE kept borrowing costs at a record low, marking six years with a 0.5% rate, as employment in the US exceeded predictions, increasing speculation that the Fed will tighten monetary policy. The BOE is still expected to be the second major central bank to increase rates.

In US the number of people in employment increased to 295,000 last month, more than forecasted, and unemployment fell to 5.5%, the lowest in almost seven years, however the average hourly wage rate rose less than had been expected.

The Pound fell 2.5% to $1.5055 on Friday evening, the most since May 2010. Sterling gained 0.7% to €1.3878 against the Euro after touching €1.3913, the strongest since December 2007.

The European Central Bank will start buying Euro-area government bonds as it took the first step of its expanded quantitative-easing plan designed to boost price growth in the region.

The anticipated 1.1 trillion-euro ($1.2 trillion) plan already fuelled a debt-market, while helping push the euro to its weakest level in more than 11 years.

Today Australia will be closed due to national holidays
