Germany's unemployment rate falls to record low, and the Economy booms.
Unemployment in Germany fell to a record low as the number of people out of work dropped for a sixth straight month, echoing a boom in Europe’s largest economy that could push up wages and inflation.
The unemployment rate was 5.5% in December, and the previous month’s rate was revised down to the same level. The number of people unemployed fell by 29,000 last month, more than twice as much expected.
The Pound rose to $1.355 this morning against the dollar, sterling rose to 1.1284 against the Euro.
