The Pound rose for a fourth consecutive day versus the Euro, its longest run of gains since November, before data which showed the UK Manufacturing grew the least in nearly three years.
Markit Economics said its factory index dropped to 50.8 from 52.9, marking the weakest reading since April 2013. A gauge of new orders was slightly above the key 50 line and employment decreased for a second month.
Elsewhere, the German unemployment rate unexpectedly fell to a record low of 6.3%. The number of people out of work declined a seasonally adjusted 13,000 to 2.77 million. The number of people without work fell by about 6,000 in western Germany and about 8,000 in the eastern part of the country.
The Pound rose 0.3% to 1.2839 against the Euro as of 9:19 a.m., after touching 1.2847. The Pound rose 0.4%to 1.3969 against the Dollar, extending yesterdays 0.3% gain.
